Modern porcelain tiles are generally produced to a number of recognized international standards and definitions. Manufacturers are found across the world with Italy being the global leader. Because of its durability, inability to rust and nonporous nature, glazed porcelain has been in use for personal hygiene since the third quarter of the 17th century.
Most tile can be used on walls, but floor tile need to withstand greater wear and tear. For light residential use, Class 2 or greater is a good choice. For high traffic areas such as kitchens and entryways, Class 3 or greater will hold up best. Therefore, porcelain tile is a better floor tile than ceramic tile. Tile comes in a multitude of sizes with 12" x 24" being the most popular for floor tile. Bay Stone also carries a large selection of smaller dimension, oversized and art decorative tile. "Bay Stone is a wonderful business to deal with! It is and will be our go to granite house! Francisco Morales is the rock star of installers, he comes out, makes a template, comes back and installs your granite! Perfect, every time and I know this, as he's done 3 generations of our Family's homes. He and younger Francisco and Abraham came in and left the kitchen cleaner than when they got there! What a beautiful job, true craftsmen!"
