Where can I buy marble slabs in San Jose?
Bay Stone Depot at 495 East Brokaw Road, Suite F, San Jose, CA 95112 stocks a curated in-house selection of full marble slabs for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, fireplace surrounds, floors, and feature walls. You can view and hand-select the exact slab for your project in our showroom, Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5:30 PM and Saturday 10:00 AM–4:00 PM.
Do you carry Calacatta marble slabs?
Yes. We carry Calacatta marble slabs — the sought-after Italian marble known for its bright white field and bold, dramatic grey and gold veining. Because every Calacatta slab is unique, we encourage you to visit the San Jose showroom to hand-select the exact slab for your project rather than choosing from a small sample.
Is marble good for kitchen countertops?
Marble is a beautiful, heat-resistant natural stone that has been used in kitchens for centuries. It is softer and more porous than granite or quartzite, so it can etch (dull) on contact with acidic foods like lemon, tomato, and wine, and may stain if not sealed. Many homeowners happily accept this patina in exchange for marble’s unmatched elegance; for busier kitchens, we also stock quartzite, which offers marble-like veining with far greater durability.
How do I care for and seal marble?
Marble should be sealed before use and re-sealed roughly once a year (or when water stops beading on the surface). Wipe spills immediately — especially acidic liquids like citrus, wine, vinegar, and coffee — use a pH-neutral stone cleaner, and avoid abrasive scrubbers. Use trivets for hot pans, cutting boards for chopping, and our care guide walks through sealing and maintenance in detail. Marble is acid-sensitive, so never use vinegar, lemon, or general-purpose bathroom cleaners on it.
What marble colors and varieties do you stock?
Our San Jose showroom carries a rotating selection including Calacatta, Carrara, Statuario, Nero Marquina (black with white veins), Crema Marfil (warm beige), and Emperador (rich brown). Because we stock full slabs rather than just samples, availability varies — call (408) 441-1114 or visit in person to see what is currently in the yard.
