San Jose Quartzite Supplier

Quartzite, Chosen Slab by SlabQuartzite, Chosen Slab by Slab

Bay Stone Depot stocks natural quartzite slabs in San Jose — marble-like beauty with granite-like hardness, ideal for kitchen countertops. A true natural stone, quartzite is quarried from the earth and offers the elegant veining people love in marble alongside exceptional scratch and heat resistance. It is also a completely different material from engineered quartz: quartzite is a natural slab, while quartz is a resin-bound man-made surface. Knowing the difference is the first step in choosing the right stone.

At our 12,000 sq ft showroom on East Brokaw Road you hand-select the exact full slab for your project — you choose the piece, not a sample. Whether you are building a waterfall island in Willow Glen, remodeling a bath in Los Gatos, or specifying stone for a Cupertino kitchen, our specialists help you compare slabs, finishes, and edge profiles. Walk-ins are welcome, and we serve homeowners, designers, and fabricators across Santa Clara County and the greater San Francisco Bay Area.

A buyer's guide to the quartzite slabs you'll see in our San Jose showroom. Every slab is unique — visit us to view current stock and hand-select yours.

Super White Quartzite

The most marble-like quartzite — a soft grey-white field with subtle, smoky veining that reads like Carrara. Super White gives homeowners the look of marble with the scratch and heat resistance of natural quartzite for busy kitchens.

Taj Mahal Quartzite

A warm, creamy quartzite with soft gold and grey movement — one of the most sought-after quartzites in the world. Taj Mahal brings an inviting, luminous tone to waterfall islands, vanities, and feature walls.

White Macaubas Quartzite

A bright white Brazilian quartzite with long, dramatic grey and gold veining. White Macaubas makes a striking statement on large islands and feature surfaces where movement and contrast are the point.

Sea Pearl Quartzite

A flowing blue-grey and green quartzite with pearl-like luminosity. Sea Pearl is a designer favorite for homeowners who want a cooler palette and elegant, oceanic movement across a full slab.

Fantasy Brown Quartzite

Sometimes classed as a soft quartzite or dolomite, Fantasy Brown blends warm brown, grey, and cream waves that resemble a painter's landscape. It pairs beautifully with wood-toned cabinetry in traditional and transitional kitchens.

Mont Blanc Quartzite

A clean white quartzite with bold, dark veining that recalls a snow-capped mountain. Mont Blanc is dramatic yet versatile, ideal for statement countertops and waterfall islands that anchor a room.

Quartzite FAQsQuartzite FAQs

What is the difference between quartzite and quartz?

Quartzite is a natural stone quarried from the earth — sandstone transformed by heat and pressure into an extremely hard, dense slab with marble-like veining. Engineered quartz (often just called "quartz") is a man-made surface of crushed stone bound with resin. Natural quartzite offers one-of-a-kind movement and a cool, polished feel similar to marble, while engineered quartz is non-porous and never needs sealing. We carry both at Bay Stone Depot and can help you choose between them.

Is quartzite good for kitchen countertops?

Yes. Quartzite is one of the best natural stones for kitchen countertops — it is harder than granite (resisting scratches and chips), highly heat-resistant, and offers the elegant veining people love in marble without marble's acid sensitivity. It does need to be sealed to resist stains, but a properly sealed quartzite countertop handles daily kitchen use beautifully. It is the ideal choice for busy cooks who want a true natural stone.

Does quartzite need sealing?

Yes. Quartzite is a natural stone and, unlike engineered quartz, it is porous — so it should be sealed before installation and re-sealed every 1–2 years (or when water stops beading on the surface). Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner, wipe spills promptly, and avoid abrasive scrubbers. A well-sealed quartzite slab is highly stain-resistant and easy to maintain. Our care guide walks through sealing and maintenance in detail.

Where can I buy quartzite slabs in San Jose?

Bay Stone Depot at 495 East Brokaw Road, Suite F, San Jose, CA 95112 stocks a curated in-house selection of full natural quartzite slabs for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, fireplace surrounds, and feature walls. What quartzite colors and varieties do you carry?

Our San Jose showroom carries a rotating selection including Super White, Taj Mahal, White Macaubas, Sea Pearl, Fantasy Brown, and Mont Blanc — spanning bright whites, soft creams, grey-blue movement, and warm brown tones. Because we stock full slabs rather than just samples, availability varies — call (408) 441-1114 or visit in person to see what is currently in the yard and find the exact slab for your project.

Do you carry quartzite flagstone and outdoor stone?

Yes. Alongside polished quartzite slabs for countertops, we stock quartzite flagstone and natural quartzite tile for patios, walkways, outdoor kitchens, and feature walls. Quartzite flagstone is a favorite in San Jose landscapes because it is naturally non-slip, frost-resistant, and far harder than sandstone. Visit the showroom to see current quartzite flagstone options for your Bay Area outdoor project.

What areas do you serve for quartzite slabs?

We serve San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Los Gatos, Campbell, Saratoga, Milpitas, Fremont, Morgan Hill, and the greater Santa Clara County and San Francisco Bay Area.
