Large-Format Porcelain Panels Engineered for Architectural Scale — Where Building Material Meets Design Object.

Engineered for the Built EnvironmentEngineered for the Built Environment
Ycon was founded in Sassuolo, Italy's ceramic capital, by a team of architects who were frustrated with the gap between what they designed and what the tile industry offered. Their goal was straightforward: create porcelain surfaces that architects could specify with the same confidence as glass, steel, or concrete — materials with known structural properties, consistent dimensional tolerances, and predictable performance under load.
The name itself — a contraction of 'icon' — reflects the brand's ambition. Every Ycon panel is engineered for structural integrity, dimensional precision, and visual impact at architectural scale. Slabs up to 320 cm eliminate grout lines and create seamless surfaces that read as monolithic planes. Through-body pigmentation means exposed edges, mitre joints, and cut details display the same colour as the face — critical for the kind of architectural detailing that separates specification-grade material from commodity tile.
Baystone is proud to bring the full Ycon catalogue to the Bay Area. Our San Jose showroom displays key collections — including the award-winning Metropolis concrete-look range and the innovative Ferrum oxidised-metal series — with the complete portfolio available on 3-5 week order from Italy.

Architectural Scale PanelsArchitectural Scale Panels
Large-format panels up to 160 x 320 cm create seamless surfaces that eliminate visual interruption — facades, countertops, and feature walls benefit from a monolithic aesthetic that smaller formats simply cannot achieve. When a single panel covers nearly six feet by ten feet, the material speaks for itself.

Ultra-Thin 6mm TechnologyUltra-Thin 6mm Technology
Ycon's proprietary pressing technology produces panels as thin as 6 mm without sacrificing flexural strength — reinforced with fibreglass mesh backing for exceptional load performance. The reduced weight opens possibilities for ventilated facades, furniture cladding, and overlay renovations where structural capacity is limited.

Through-Body ColourThrough-Body Colour
Unlike surface-printed tiles where the design sits in a thin glaze layer, Ycon's flagship collections use through-body pigmentation — colour extends through the full slab thickness. Edges, cuts, and mitre joints display the same colour as the face. This is the critical difference between architectural-grade porcelain and commodity tile.

Digital Reproduction AccuracyDigital Reproduction Accuracy
Advanced digital inkjet technology reproduces natural stone, concrete, and metal textures with sub-millimetre accuracy. Each panel in a production run is unique — the system varies pattern, veining, and tonal values to avoid the repetitive motifs that betray lesser porcelain. The result reads as genuinely organic material.
