Quartz FAQsQuartz FAQs

Where can I buy quartz countertops in San Jose?

Bay Stone Depot at 495 East Brokaw Road, Suite F, San Jose, CA 95112 carries a wide range of engineered quartz surfaces for kitchen and bathroom countertops. View full slabs in our showroom, Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5:30 PM and Saturday 10:00 AM–4:00 PM.

What is the difference between quartz and quartzite?

Quartz is an engineered surface made from ground natural stone bound with resin — it is non-porous, consistent in pattern, and never needs sealing. Quartzite is a 100% natural stone with unique veining that should be sealed periodically. Both make excellent countertops; we stock both.

Does quartz need to be sealed?

No. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so it never requires sealing. Daily cleaning with warm water and mild soap is all that is needed — one of the reasons quartz is such a low-maintenance countertop.

Is quartz good for kitchen countertops?

Yes. Quartz is extremely durable, scratch- and stain-resistant, and available in consistent colors and marble-look patterns. Use trivets for hot cookware, as prolonged high heat can damage the resin. It is one of the most popular modern countertop choices.

What quartz colors and looks do you carry?

We stock solid whites and greys, concrete and cement looks, and Calacatta- and Carrara-style marble-look quartz with dramatic veining — from leading engineered-surface brands, available as full slabs.

What areas do you serve for quartz countertops?

We serve San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Los Gatos, Campbell, Saratoga, Milpitas, Fremont, and the greater Santa Clara County and San Francisco Bay Area.
