The most common question we hear at Bay Stone Depot is some variation of should I go with quartz or natural stone.

First, a clarification: engineered quartz and natural quartzite are not the same thing. Engineered quartz is a manufactured product.

Engineered quartz was developed to solve specific problems associated with natural stone. It is non-porous and consistent.

Natural stone offers something engineered products cannot replicate: genuine uniqueness. Every slab is one of a kind.

Performance is where the comparison gets nuanced. Engineered quartz excels in stain resistance but has heat sensitivity.

Aesthetics is inherently subjective, but there is an observable trend toward natural stone for its depth and translucency.

Our recommendation is not to think of this as a contest with a winner. Consider your lifestyle and preferences.
